What to do in Kuldīga? A day with kids

You can do a lot, or you can lazily stroll around and truly do nothing. Especially in summer. If you want to explore all the possibilities, then check it out here.

I offer an idea for one-day activities. What we would do ourselves if we had to experience Kuldīga with family friends.

First, breakfast. Local bakery Celms with a terrace in the shade of trees, offering fresh, self-baked bread in various variations. And coffee. And summer cold drinks. And a smiling welcome. And, if with children, it's super great that the terrace is next to a small parking lot, which means - almost no car traffic, children can freely stretch their legs within a safe view.

If with younger children, then afterwards you can literally walk 4 minutes to the nearby Estrādes Park, where in the sufficiently spacious (again, children can safely run around by themselves) park area there are playgrounds.

Or go on a small car excursion. Our choice for a trip – 30 minutes away to the Rural Farm – zoo Zemturi. A place where you can not only see but also pet animals (rabbits, goats, emus… and more). Or, driving in the same direction, 20 minutes away - Strauss un Kaza. The name already tells you what you can encounter here. Compared to Zemturi, you can get a closer look at the goats, but at the ostriches - from a distance. However, in addition to this, for those seeking new tastes, there is a good opportunity to try the local produce restaurant

Ko_darit_kuldiga_ar_berniem_mini_zooIf lunch is not eaten at Strauss un Kaza, then back to Kuldīga! Pizzas, terrace and toy box for children – Goldingen Room. Large portions with potatoes and pork chop – Pagrabiņš. Sweet potatoes with chicken fillet, delicious lemonades – Kursas Zeme. There are other cool places to eat places, but these mentioned ones have become pleasant and dear to us.

And, of course, afterwards take a stroll through the Old Town, along the Venta, maybe swim or go up to the new observation tower? An easy route with children is Liepājas street (pedestrian street) - Town Square. From the Town Square, it's not far to Pils Park. The cobblestones of Kuldīga will make stroller wheels work hard, but otherwise – again a place where it's green all around and blooming peacefully in summer. And there's the Venta Rapid, the Old Brick Bridge, and if you wish, you can go over the bridge to the new observation tower!

Have a great weekend! Because being together is a celebration!

And, if you need an idea for conversations on the way home, then the Ieklausos conversation cards will come in handy. Available in Kuldīga at the stores KUULD and Pindzele
